Ancient method, modern transformation.

Traditional communities know something the modern world has forgotten; that life is characterised by evolution and change. Change brings challenge, and we’re not supposed to navigate challenge alone. The Rites of Passage Institute teaches tried and tested methods to help schools, organisations, and individuals transform and grow.

Meet our founder - Dr Rubinstein Oam

“I believe that connecting with each other on a deeper level and creating genuine human experiences is how we can create and grow healthy humans and communities. Facilitating transformation the way traditional communities have always done it is the way to make real, positive, lasting impact on your community, your family, and your life.”

Our therapists bring years of experience helping people just like you—people who are tired of carrying everything alone. We use proven, evidence-based methods tailored to what you actually need, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether you prefer meeting in person or from the comfort of home, whether you’re seeking individual therapy or couples counseling, we’re here to meet you where you are.

We’re a team of licensed counseling psychologists united by one belief: therapy should feel like a safe conversation with someone who truly understands. Each therapist brings unique expertise, but we all share a commitment to meeting you exactly where you are—without judgment, without pressure.

This is where you don’t have to have it all together. Where messy is okay. Where your feelings are valid—all of them. You can be honest here. We’ll listen without judging, without fixing, without telling you how you “should” feel. Just understanding. Just support.

We use proven methods like CBT, EMDR, and attachment theory—but we tailor everything to you. Your therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s built around your story, your pace, your needs. Some need tools. Some need space to process. Most need both. We’ll figure it out together.

Stories of transformation

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something needs to change—but you’re not sure how to move forward—that’s when therapy can help. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to be open to the process.

Each session is 50-60 minutes. We’ll decide together how often to meet—typically weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs and schedule.

Without insurance, therapy sessions typically range from $150 to $275, depending on the therapist you choose to work with.

We understand that cost can be a concern, and we don’t believe it should stand in the way of getting support. Everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. Through our advanced clinical training program, we’re able to offer therapy options when insurance or standard rates aren’t the right fit.

Yes! I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for all online sessions. Many clients find online therapy just as effective—and far more convenient.

I use an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and psychodynamic methods. But really, my approach is about meeting you where you are and tailoring our work to what you need most.
